Sight Cymru is looking for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead a high performing team of staff and volunteers that deliver services to over 5,000 people in South Wales.
We are a small but very active society for the blind that helps people regain life skills after losing their sight. We also have a strong emphasis on preventing sight loss since 50% of blindness is avoidable.
Our main aims are to:
- help people who have lost or are losing their sight
- prevent unnecessary sight loss
- help local authorities and local health boards to provide good rehabilitation services
- train professionals, carers, service users, friends and family
- Develop the eye-care sector throughout Wales
Our team of staff and, very importantly, over 100 volunteers, all of whom are dedicated and well trained to help blind and partially sighted people, provide our support services.
