We are looking for two Assistant Operations Managers to co-ordinate our day-to-day operations, supervise a large team of volunteers and ensure the ongoing success of the FareShare Cymru in South Wales.
This will involve working closely with warehouse colleagues and volunteers to ensure that all operational activities are completed to the agreed timetable, driving our vans and ensuring that food safety standards are met.
FareShare Cymru works with charities and community organisations across South Wales helping to fight food poverty by tackling food waste. We take surplus edible food from the food and drink industry (food that would otherwise be wasted) and redistribute it to organisations in South Wales that feed people in need, turning an environmental problem into a social solution.
Over the last year we have redistributed over 500t of surplus food, providing enough meals for over 1.1 million meals and helping in excess of 5,000 people a week.
This is a very important and exciting time for FareShare Cymru as we are about to embark on a programme of change and growth that will lead to us branching out across South Wales and into the west, recruiting more volunteers and more community food members, handling more food and expanding our base in Cardiff.
The role involves co-ordinating day-to-day operations, driving our vans, ensuring that food safety and health and safety standards are maintained, as well as supervising our team of operations volunteers.
As a result of our planned growth and expansion there are two roles that will work as a team with the Operations Manager to ensure that our extended operating hours are covered.
