About Us:

Historical image of the Chinaworks

Nantgarw China Works is celebrated as the birthplace of ‘the world’s finest porcelain’.  Nantgarw house, a Grade II Listed Building, functions as the site’s Museum and was home (two centuries ago) to some of the most remarkable and influential porcelain painters and manufacturers in the world.

Today, the China Works is an independent museum, as well as a working pottery and an educational institution offering some 500 workshop sessions every year.

Our mission is to transform where the world’s finest porcelain was made into a vibrant centre for ceramic history and contemporary innovation.
