With nearly 40 years’ experience supporting people facing challenges with their mental health, we are expanding and diversifying our regional projects and services and deepening our connections in communities. We are part of a growing social movement of organisations and activists who want to create change in the mental health system and beyond. Our new mission will see us build on our successful services, expand our social enterprise model – exploring opportunities to offering wellbeing support to organisations and communities, widen our reach with high profile campaigns and work to affect the change needed in the mental health system and beyond to support sustainable wellbeing for all.
About the Out of Work Peer Mentoring Service (OOWPMS):
The Out of Work Service Peer Mentoring Service (OOWPMS) is delivered by Platfform across the Cardiff and Vale and Cwm Taf Health Board areas providing individualised into work mentoring and support for people who have been affected by Substance Misuse and/or Mental Health challenges.
The OOWPMS complements and enhances existing treatment, support and care services, through the provision of additional mentoring support; that focusses on helping people to move on and thrive through inspiring self-confidence, nurturing self-reliance, developing new skills, acquiring qualifications and ultimately achieving economic independence through paid employment.
The scheme has been supported by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government; funding is currently in place until August 2021; whilst we await confirmation of further funding.
The successful candidate will provide individualised mentoring support to people affected by mental health and/or substance misuse problems, to enable entry into training, volunteering and employment.
