Volunteer Officer opportunity!

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can continue to develop our Volunteering Strategy.  Applicants will be required to recruit and promote a wide range of volunteer opportunities and will work closely with all departments in allocating volunteers to undertake driving, day centre activities for patients, fundraising and office based roles.

About Us:

City Hospice is the only specialist palliative care provider for the city of Cardiff.  We help over 1,000 patients plus their families and all of our services are provided free of charge.  As a Charity we need to raise a total of £2m each year to continue to provide our specialist services.

Job Role:

The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with local Universities and Colleges for student volunteering and also with businesses in the promotion and activities for corporate volunteers.  Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential together with the ability to be creative and use initiative.

The successful applicant will be required to organise Open Days and implement reward and recognition opportunities for volunteers.  You will need to maintain effective administration processes for DBS checks, induction, health and safety and database management.  Candidates should also possess excellent IT skills and be competent in the production of Newsletters and other volunteer information.  You should have experience of working with volunteers, have a pro-active and flexible approach and be willing to work outside normal working hours.
