About Us:

Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity providing a range of specialist services to people who have been affected by crime across England and Wales. We work towards a world where there are fewer victims but who have stronger rights, better support and a real influence in the Criminal Justice System.  Everyone at VS is driven by our Vision Ambitions and Values to play their part in making a difference for those who experience crime and traumatic events.  Working for VS gives you the opportunity to play a key role in a national charity providing high quality services to victims and witnesses and being a vital force for change.

South Wales Victim Focus serves diverse communities, many of whom experience a range of barriers that may impact on their ability to cope and recover from what they have experienced.  These can include financial distress; social isolation; reduced mobility; mental and physical health issues; substance use and lack of opportunity. South Wales Victim Focus aims to identify what matters to service users and empower them to take control of their journey.  The nature of service required will vary depending on individual circumstances and will range from short term intervention to deal with specific issues to more regular on-going interventions addressing a range of needs and/or supporting individuals through a lengthy criminal justice process.

Job Role:

To be successful in the role, you will have experience of delivering a service and working directly with clients or service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting, as well as working with vulnerable service users with diverse and challenging needs in different situations and settings.  You will be customer focussed and deliver excellence in service delivery, building and maintaining relationships with external partners and key stakeholders. You will be able to work without direct supervision, prioritising work and dealing with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner.  You will have knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice and sound IT expertise.
