Summary:

Are you interested in becoming a trustee?

We are looking for additional trustees to join the Board.

About Us:

Tŷ Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care to children and support for their families, throughout Wales.

If you think this means we simply provide a place where children can come to die, you couldn’t be further from the truth.

We offer comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families in the hospice, in the community and in their home so they can make the most of the time they have left together.

The Role:

Trustees are the people who share ultimate responsibility for the overall governance and set the strategy for the charity.  Essentially, the role involves providing scrutiny and contribution to the Board. As Tŷ Hafan’s trustees hold a non-executive position, they do not get involved in the day to day or operational running of the Charity.

Candidates must be confident in a Board environment and have the ability to provide robust scrutiny and constructive challenge at Board and Committee level.  Information on Tŷ Hafan’s governance structure can be found here.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with legal expertise. This is a voluntary position with an expected time commitment of around two days per month.

Alternatively, a co-opted position could be an opportunity for you to share your expertise serving a committee, bringing valuable skills in digital transformation, health and safety, or information governance, for example.

We recommend that all candidates who are interested in these positions who have not served as Trustees also visit this essential information for trustees page prior to making any enquiries.

To Apply:

Closing date for applications is 30 November 2021, but in the first instance, informal enquiries or expressions of interest should be made to Susan Sullivan at susan.sullivan@tyhafan.org, or call 029 2053 2247.
