About Us:
The Mental Health Advocacy Scheme (MHAS) was established in 1995 and is a free, friendly service that offers support to those experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties to have access independent and confidential advocacy across Anglesey and Gwynedd.
We are Independent from statutory organisations and designed and operated in a way which is free from conflict of interest, non-judgemental and we accept that everyone is different.
The Role:
Time Commitment: 6 Weekly Board Meetings. Trustees are occasionally invited to attend public or private events in support of the organisation.
Renumeration: Voluntary but out of pocket expenses and travel will be reimbursed.
As a Trustee, you will work with the other board members and the senior leadership team to shape our vision and mission, track our progress on achieving our strategic goals and ensure that we are compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements. You will also be our sounding board and critical friend, bringing your skills and experience into conversations to help us shape our programme and organisation for the better.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for Trustees with experience in one of the following areas:
- Private sector, organisational strategy and income generation
- Health and safety, risk management and data protection
- Digital, marketing, communications and public relations
