As we approach our 21st birthday, we’re proud to see the difference that our work has made to the Welsh music scene and to the lives of so many people who have come to our courses and events.  We’re reaching out to recruit new Trustees to take the charity into a strong and imaginative future.  We are seeking both experienced Trustees and those new to the role.

About Us:

Traddodiadau Cerdd Cymru/Music Traditions Wales, or Trac Cymru for short, is Wales’ folk development organisation.

We kindle interest, nurture talent and present the very best of Wales’ folk musicians across the world. We hold day courses and residential courses to help enthusiasts and professionals hone their skills and develop talent at all ages across our traditional arts.  You’ll find us working in schools, in communities, on festival fields and at international showcases, helping to ensure that the traditional arts of Wales continue to enrich the lives of all who encounter them.

Our Mission is “To develop Welsh performing folk arts as a living tradition to be shared and enjoyed by audiences and performers at all levels, both in Wales and throughout the world.”

The Role:

As an organisation, we know that we need to become more diverse to better reflect the whole of Wales, so we are keen to recruit more young trustees and women, and are particularly open to applications from people from black and ethnic minority communities and from people with disabilities.  The charity has a bilingual policy.  Our Board includes Welsh-speakers, learners and non-Welsh-speakers.  You can find out more about Trac Cymru and our work at (Work is ongoing on the new website, due to launch by the end of 2020.)  We have a YouTube channel and we’re on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as Trac Cymru.
