Summary:

We are looking for people to work as part of the team to deliver the National Lottery Helping Working Families co-production project engaging and empowering people who volunteer their time and talents within a co-production method of working.

About Us:

Valleys Kids has a 43 year long successful track record of innovative community development initiatives. We began working in a whitewashed coal cellar in Penygraig with two staff on a job share and a handful of volunteers in 1977. Now we have 34 staff, over 100 volunteers, 4 community hubs, a residential centre on the Gower and 3 social enterprises including, The Factory, a centre for creative industries in Porth, the Play Yard in Treorchy and The Old Library in Penygraig. Our turnover is around £1.5 million per annum.

We have changed the lives of thousands of individuals across the South Wales Valleys. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to move from dependence to independence regardless of social, economic or geographic disadvantage.

Job Role:

You will develop the Project yearly action plan with colleagues. Support in organising community consultations to gather information to guide the project programmes ensuring they are tailored according to community requirements.

Additional Information:

Hours: 1.5 FTE based on a full-time working week of 37 hours. These hours are flexible and open to job-share.  To be worked flexibly over the week including evening and weekends.

Duration:  Fixed term until 31st August 2022

Holidays: 25 working days per year plus statutory holidays.
