We are looking to recruit a Generalist Adviser and a Trainee Generalist Adviser.
Newport Citizens Advice is an independent charity which offers a free confidential advice and information service from its city centre based office as well as many outreach locations throughout the city. Our dedicated advisers are trained to provide high quality general advice on a variety of subjects, including as welfare benefits, debt, consumer, housing, employment, and family issues. We also have teams of specialist debt, welfare benefits, and discrimination advisers who can provide support on an on-going basis if required.
We have been providing free, confidential, impartial advice to the community of Newport since 1939. Located in the City Centre of Newport in accessible premises, we aim to provide a welcoming and friendly environment for clients and staff.
To provide an information, advice and assistance service at outreach venues, Citizens Advice offices and through home visits in accordance with the aims, policies and principles of Citizens Advice and requirements of funders. This service currently is based remotely via phone and other digital means.

*Salary: Grade 5 £22,183 pa based on a 37 hour week OR Grade 4 £20,092 pa based on a 37 hour week
The higher salary is payable to successful candidate who has a generalist Citizens Advice Certificate or equivalent OR upon qualifying for that Certificate with the lower salary paid during training
Hours: Part time Role 1 Generalist Adviser: 22.5 hours pw and Role 2 Trainee Generalist Adviser: 22.5 to 30 hours pw
Pension: 10% pension supplement payable (inclusive of a 2% employee contribution)
Holidays: Role 1 Generalist Adviser: 22.5 days per annum Role 2 Trainee Generalist Adviser: 22.5 to 30 days (all holidays include public holidays and fixed days)
