Summary:

Eye to Eye Young Peoples Counselling service is looking to recruit 2 part time advisors who will work in partnership to provide support to improve and maintain the mental health of children, young people, their families and other community members.

About Us:

(RCT) Eye to Eye Young People’s Counselling Service is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registration number 1170631. The charity has been delivering advice, guidance and counselling to young people and families since 1995, working alongside voluntary and statutory partners across RCT and the Cwm Taf Bro Morganwg Health Authority areas.

We are committed to the welfare of young people’s emotional and mental health and our charity provides advice and guidance through workshops and counselling services online, in community venues , schools, and health settings. Our charity service provides support to young people during sad events and critical incidents. We work in partnership with other professionals to ensure support is provided effectively and appropriately to young people and staff. This new project will ensure that young people, their families and communities receive targeted instant support when needed.

Our charity is successfully embedded into the community, our partners are able to freely refer young people with emotional distress.

Job Role:

You will manage the challenges to their mental health caused or exacerbated by the Covid-19 crisis. This will include education/advice for the prevention of mental ill health in children and young people, additional support for children, young people, families and community members who support them and a community based crisis response. The project will be delivered in Rhondda Cynon Taff with a two key partners, Valley Kids and New Horizons.

This is a new project and the charity would like to develop this role and project further, therefore the post holder will be required to gather evidence and evaluations to support further funding bids.

There are two project posts both working in partnership together and managed by the charity. One post is youth work lead and the other mental health lead. These post holders working together will ensure young people, community and families receive targeted information and advice suitable to their needs.

1 x Part Time Youth, Family and Community Advisor (Youth Work)

1 x Part Time Youth, Family and Community Advisor (Mental Health)

Pension: 5%

Holidays: 5.6 weeks excluding bank holidays

Hours of work Initial Hours.

Monday and Wednesday 10am to 4.30pm

Tuesday and Thursday 12pm to 6.30pm

These hours will be subject to change as the project develops

Location: Working in venues throughout RCT as required.
